INFORMATION FOR APPLICANTS
Bow Valley Christmas Spirit is committed to helping families and individuals in Canmore and the MD of Bighorn during the holiday season.
To ensure that we can provide support to those most in need, application requirements will be financially aligned with the Town of Canmore Affordable Service Program maximum household income tiers. You can review these requirements here. This change is in response to the growing number of applicants each year, allowing us to prioritize those facing financial challenges in our community.
How to Apply:

Application Period: Applications will be accepted from November 1 to November 30.

Eligibility: To qualify for the program, applicants must:

Be a resident of Canmore or the MD of Bighorn.

Meet the Town of Canmore Affordable Services Program eligibility requirements.

Provide proof of residency (e.g., driver’s license, utility bill) and line 150 the most recent Notice of Assessment as proof of income.

What You Will Receive:
​
Approved applicants will receive a holiday package consisting of gift cards for food and toys to help brighten the holiday season. We hope the cards will provide the flexibility needed to purchase the items for Christmas dinner and other fresh produce that your family enjoys. Food gift cards will be provided for Save on Foods, Valbella Gourmet Foods, and Shoppers Drug Mart.
The gift cards for toys come from several vendors in our community, giving you the choice to purchase gifts that your children will enjoy. Toy gift cards for children will be from Canadian Tire and Shoppers Drug Mart.

Important Dates:

Application period: November 1 – November 30.

Gift Cards distributed: December 9, 10, and 11.

You will be provided more information regarding gift card pickup instructions in early December.
